"31 Days in the News" (March 2009) This page features paintings from Dana Ellyn's "31 Days in the News" project. Started in July of 2003 (and formerly called "31 Days in July"), Dana creates one new painting per day in response to the daily news capturing each day of the month in a total of 31 unique paintings. New paintings will be posted to this page as they are completed each day.

	March 29, 2009: If You Love Something, Set it Free The inspiration for this painting is three-fold: 1. Tibet celebrates Serfs Emancipation Day (read more here: Serf Emancipation Day (from the China Daily news)) 2. Smithsonian Kite Festival took place on Saturday March 27 on the National Mall. 3. President Obama steps on to the world stage at the G-20 summit. He hopes his ideas about the ecomomy, the war in Afghanistan and his other policies 'take flight' and are embraced by other leaders.
